Mike Kubik

IN MEMORIAM

Mike Kubik joined Cascade in 2003 after six years as Divisional Vice President with Sun Healthcare Group. Mike served as Chief Operating Officer of Cascade Health Services from 2003 – 2013. His vision, inspiring leadership and commitment to excellence were instrumental to Cascade’s growth and success. Mike’s gracious hospitality, quick wit and contagious smile brightened our communities.

On May 11, 2013, Mike passed away from complications caused by multiple myeloma, a cancer he bravely fought for two years. Mike’s wonderful personality, positive attitude and caring heart will always be remembered by his colleagues at Cascade. His was a life well-lived, and we will do our best to emulate his fine example.

Ron Haney

Since 1999, Ron has been a founding partner and chief executive officer of Cascade Health Services, LLC. His primary duties have included developing the overall corporate strategic plan and vision for both the short term and long term growth of the company, investing and arranging capitalization and maintaining capital relationships. His other duties include facility due diligence, the financing of acquisitions, facility disposition and asset management. Through his personal relationships developed during more than 30 years working in the Texas long-term care industry, he has been able to recruit and build Cascade’s professional management team. Ron is dedicated to the philosophy of improving the best quality of clinical care in an environment of “enlightened hospitality” in all Cascade Services’ facilities.

Marjorie Dorrow

Marjorie was named the company’s Chief Operating Officer in 2013. Prior to joining Cascade Health Services, Marjorie served as a Vice President of Operations for a Texas based long-term care organization. Her strong leadership in the industry led to her being recognized as a Future Leader of Long Term Care by American Health Care Association. In her previous executive capacity, Marjorie has assisted with acquisitions, divestitures and new facility start-ups. In her role as Chief Operating Officer, Marjorie has oversight of the daily operations of Cascade Health Services. She believes in fostering a culture that empowers team members to achieve positive outcomes, while promoting their personal and professional growth. With a company-wide focus on enlightening hospitality, Marjorie assists the senior leadership of our facilities with ensuring our company mission, vision, and values are honored. Marjorie is a graduate of Texas A&M Central Texas with a degree in Social Work and is a licensed nursing facility administrator.

Shantel Griffin

Shantel has been a Registered Nurse for over 23 years. She is an Army Veteran that served in the United States Army and ended her miltary career in the Army Reserves. Shantel earned her nursing degree while attending a local college close to her home town. After graduating she began her career in long-term care.

Shantel is passionate about delivering high quality care while remaining mindful of her patient’s individual preferences and needs. She values the importance of patient-centered care and she enjoys working with her team to ensure this. During her career Shantel has worked in a variety of healthcare settings, including acute care hospitals, long-term care facilities, home health, hospice and as a Nurse Educator. One thing Shantel prides herself on is the ability to build a team, which enriches the overall health and spirit within the communities. When she is not at work, Shantel enjoys spending time with her family and physical fitness training.

Keela Bierds

Keela joined Cascade Health Services in the spring of 2017 as the Director of AR.  She has worked in the Healthcare Industry since 1990. She was 17 years old, when she started working as a certified nursing assistant (CNA) in long term care. She has held positions as a CNA, Medical Records and Supply Clerk, Activity Director, and then found her calling in the Business Office and Finance. Keela found that there was a great challenge in this position, and she worked hard to always exceed collection expectations while expanding her knowledge of Texas Medicaid and long term care finance. Keela spent years working in both long term care and in Hospice as both an Administrative Assistant, Office Manager, and Regional Consultant.  As a Regional Consultant, Keela oversaw the billing and daily business office operations for fourteen SNF facilities and three Assisted Livings. Keela enjoys helping residents and their families and finds it so rewarding at the end of the day.  Along her journey, Keela married her best friend, has two wonderful sons, an amazing daughter-in-law, and two beautiful granddaughters who rule her world!

Mary Lou Howells

Mary Lou Howells began her employment with Cascade Health Services on October 7, 2013. Mary Lou serves as the Vice-President of Business Development and works as a clinical navigator for Cascade Health Services. Mary Lou plays an active role in assisting residents with placement in our communities. Mary Lou has been a nurse since 2003 and has worked in marketing and business development since 2006. Mary Lou enjoys connecting with others and developing lasting relationship with those she serves.

Mary Lou joined the Cascade Health Services team because she saw an opportunity to leave a larger footprint on her local community. Mary Lou has a passion for serving the elderly population and believes her values align closely with those of Cascade. “I love helping people find security and guiding them through some of the most difficult days of their lives. One of my favorite responsibilities is assisting our veteran’s in receiving the care they need and deserve.” says Mary Lou.

Additionally, Mary Lou is responsible for managing hospital relationships, physician relations and plays a key role in ACO’s and BPCI’s.
